Ukrnames DNS Update: DKIM support added

03.04.2019
Dear Clients,

We have updated the DNS server software. In addition to more stable functioning, the updated DNS now supports DKIM records up to 2048-bit in length.

Spam and email spoofing are the core problems for many Internet services. One method of protection is to use DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) signatures.

DomainKeys Identified Mail is an Email authentication method designed to detect mail spoofing. The method allows the recipient to verify that the letter was really sent from the stated domain. DKIM makes it easy to fight against fake sender addresses, which are often used in phishing emails and in email spam.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) technology combines several existing anti-phishing and anti-spam methods in order to improve the quality of the classification and identification of legitimate email. Instead of the traditional IP address, to determine the sender of the message, DKIM adds a digital signature to it associated with the organization's domain name. The signature is automatically verified on the recipient's side, after which, in order to determine the reputation of the sender, white lists and black lists are used.

If your site uses its own mail server, you can generate DKIM, for example, here: https://www.port25.com/dkim-wizard/
You can add DKIM for a domain in the DNS Management section (visible for clients) https://www.ukrnames.com/eng/user/manage_dns.jsp (for domains that use DNS: ns1.ukrnames.com ns2.ukrnames.com ns3.ukrnames.com ns4.ukrnames.ua).
